When you lose a baby, there is not enough time in the world before you have to say goodbye.

After we delivered our sweet Carter, the hospital offered to take him back and forth between a chilled room and our delivery room, so that his body could be preserved for longer and we could have more time with him. We didn't want to be away from our boy for one second, so we kept him, and after a few hours, his body had deteriorated enough that it was time to say goodbye. We think about that short amount of time often, and constantly wish we'd had more.

Later, we learned about the CuddleCot, a cooling pad that fits into any moses basket or hospital cradle, that allows for a baby's body to be preserved a little longer while remaining in the same room as his or her parents. Essentially, the CuddleCot gives families the gift of time. It allows them to hold the baby longer, touch those cute little toes and fingers a few times times, and stare with awe at the perfect little baby that is theirs forever. Having access to a CuddleCot would have allowed us more time to have Carter in the room with us, but unfortunately, not every hospital has a CuddleCot available. This is something we'd like to change.

To donate the gift of time to other families like ours, we will be selling airplane necklaces that remind us of our sweet boy. Every penny of the profits will go toward purchasing a CuddleCot that will be donated to a hospital of our choosing. We will also be accepting standard donations.
