52 Lists - Week 3

This week's list asked me to list the things that I am good at. I was kind of afraid of doing this list, because I don't feel like there are a lot of things that I'm good at. There are a few things that I feel like are important to my character, but they aren't necessarily like....things that I am good at, if that makes any sense. It's not like I am great at playing the piano, I just am good at things that I can do for other people. At least I think so, anyway.

On each week's prompt there is a "Take Action" box that asks you to look at your list and do something with it. So this week, it asked me to circle the things that came naturally to me, and underline the things I had to work at. When I started to do that, I found that I was circling each thing on my list, and I realized that when the things we are good at are enjoyable and make us happy, it doesn't seem like work when we do work on them.

So even though it might seem like I'm not good at a million things, the things that I am good at bring me a tremendous amount of joy. I don't have to be good at all the things, and I don't have to be good at the same things that Sally and Jane are good at. The things we are good at are what make us unique. And if we're doing things right, the "work" we do to improve at those things won't feel like work at all.

Today's list asks for things that get you out of your head. See you back here next week!
