28 Week Bumpdate

Little man! Third trimester!!!! We are down to single digit weeks!! Only nine more until we meet you! I can’t believe we are at this point in the pregnancy. It seems to have taken forever, but the next nine weeks are going to go so quickly. I feel like I say that every week, but I still mean it!

You have been so super active this week, and maybe it’s just a coincidence, you have been super responsive whenever we talk to you! The other day I said your name and you went crazy. I’m sure you don’t actually understand it yet, but I’m going to pretend you do. Dad has been able to feel you move, and watch my belly move too, which has been fun. I also love feeling you react to food that I’m craving. It helps me to feel justified in my cravings haha.

Tomorrow we start weekly non-stress tests, and I’m looking forward to them. It will just be so nice to check in on you every week and make sure everything is looking good still. I’m starting to get really really excited for you to be here, but there is also so much fear. The further along we get, the more nervous and anxious I’m going to be, but I’m trying to keep it under control. I finally felt ready to do a little bit in the nursery over the weekend, so dad and I organized your clothes, and put the bigger clothes in a bin for later. We haven’t washed anything yet, that will come in a few weeks, but we started doing stuff, and that counts for a lot, I think! That afternoon ended with me crying, as most preparation days probably will, but the prep is leading up to good things! We’re so excited for you to be here. We just wish Carter could be here to be your best friend.

I really am feeling super nesty, though! There have been days where I wake up with so much energy that I want to pour into the nursery, but I’m not quite ready yet, so I just go around the house organizing everything. Yesterday I went through the bins in the nursery and just took everything out, then put it all back in haha. That’s as much as I can do for now! We’ll start getting things ready in a few weeks. I just can’t believe you are going to be here so soon!

Keep growing and kicking and giving me heartburn. I love every single moment. We love you!

How far along: 28 weeks!! Finally in the third trimester!
Baby is the size of: An eggplant! So big!
Total weight gain: About nineteen pounds?
Maternity clothes:When I have to wear real clothes, yeah.
Sleep: It takes me a long time to fall asleep, but then I sleep really well! I wake up two or three times to go to the bathroom, and usually wake up because of a dream, but I’m always able to fall back asleep quickly.
Best moment this week: Feeling you move so much. Last night we had brownies and ice cream, and you just went crazy. It was awesome!
Movement: So much, but yet still not enough. I love to feel you move. I wish you’d move all day long!
Food cravings: Chocolate chip cookies!
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing this week!
Have you started to show yet: Oh yeah.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Hm...I was happy at the beginning of the week, but the last couple days I have been pretty moody. So both?
