37 Week Bumpdate
June 18, 2018
Hudson! I’m writing this bumpdate the day before we actually hit 37 weeks, because there is no way I’m going to have enough focus to do it in the morning. Today was your dad’s first day of leave, so we had planned to sleep in, but I woke up at 7:00 and was too excited to really sleep anymore. I just wanted to lay there and feel you move! I don’t know how either of us are going to be able to sleep tonight.
We tried to have big plans for our last weekend at home without kids, but it ended up just being a big distraction-fest. We took the dogs out on Friday, had dinner, and then just sat around all night. Saturday we went to check out a new shopping center, but didn’t even end up getting out of the car to walk around. After that we looked at houses, then basically laid around the house all evening. Sunday was Father’s Day, your dad’s third, so I gave him a frame that says best dad ever, love Carter, little bean, and Hudson. He really liked it! That afternoon I went to lunch and pedicures with my friends, then when I got home your dad helped me clean the whole house! It’s all ready for you now!
Last night we finally moved the pack n’ play and bassinet into our bedroom. I have been really hesitant for a long time, but we needed to do it at some point so the cats learn to not jump in either of them. So far….not super successful haha. I think it was kind of hard for both of us, because the pack n’ play was in here when we found out we had lost Carter, and we had to take it down. So putting it back up was scary, but it feels good to have it back in here.
Ever since our appointment on Monday last week, I have had so much less anxiety. We came up with some good plans with the doctor, and checked on you every day last week except Friday. I had been so crabby up to that point, but the past week has been so much better. I feel like I have actually been fun to be around! So hopefully that has helped your dad not dread the coming twelve weeks haha. He will be here with us for twelve weeks before going back to work!! Isn’t that crazy awesome??
Pregnancy-wise, there isn’t a lot that is super notable. It was nice to be able to check on you every day. You passed your non-stress tests with flying colors, and everything on the ultrasound looked really good. Now if only you would just flip!! Sleep has been good this week, I’m just exhausted, and I’m hungry all the time, and I have to get up a lot to go to the bathroom (both in the day and the night) but holy cow are we so excited for you to be here!! By the time people are reading this, we are already at the hospital getting checked in!
We have just 24 hours to get through, little man. You stay safe in there, put on a few more ounces, and we will see you tomorrow!!!! Like for real!!!!
How far along: 37 WEEKS!! FULL TERM AND FINALLY TIME TO MEET YOU!!
Baby is the size of: romaine lettuce.
Total weight gain: about 27 pounds
Maternity clothes: Dresses, cheer shorts, and t-shirts.
Sleep: Sleep is going really well!
Best moment this week: Well, just a guess, but it will probably be meeting you!!
Movement: Please go head down. I know you like to wiggle, just do it in the right direction.
Food cravings: None, but I’m really excited to eat sushi again!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Brandon was brushing his teeth yesterday while I was in the shower, so the whole bathroom smelled minty. I still don’t like it.
