ONE MORE WEEK!!!! Hudson, we only have one more week until we get to meet you!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited!! It’s starting to feel like we are actually going to get to bring you home. Honestly, it doesn’t feel real. We have been waiting so long to bring a baby home that it still doesn’t feel like that’s what is going to happen. It’s crazy. And we can’t wait!
The last week has been a little exciting. At our appointment on Wednesday last week, the doctor decided to schedule us for three more appointments, in addition to the one we already had scheduled. We went in for an ultrasound on Friday and found out that you are breech. So that’s awesome. We’re going to watch you for the next week and see if you flip, but if you don’t, then we’ll have to do a c-section. We went in for a non-stress test yesterday and ended up getting to see you on the ultrasound again, and you are still breech. Just flip over!! You would have more room if you’d put your head down!!
We’re going in today for another quick check, then we’ll go in tomorrow for our regular appointment, and then may or may not go in again one more time this week. The doctor sat with us for a bit yesterday and we kind of came up with an exit strategy of sorts. He basically said that if we have any reason at all to think you need to come out, dad and I can go to labor and delivery right away and they will deliver you with no questions asked. If your non-stress test doesn’t look quite as good as it should, if your movements slow down, or if something on the ultrasound indicates that you are struggling, then that’s it. We are far past the point of it being safe to deliver you, so we all feel comfortable with you coming at any time. All that being said though, I’m trying really hard to not be neurotic and make up any excuse to have you come even earlier. I’m monitoring your movements closely and am keeping in mind that you do have to sleep at some point in there haha. Ultimately, we know that you could use another week to cook, so we’re going to give you as long as we can!
Last night in bed after your dad fell asleep, you started moving like crazy. I kept drumming my fingers on my stomach to try and get you to move, and every time I’d stop, you started flailing around haha. I felt really close to you last night, like we were bonding a little bit. Since we’ve never brought a baby home, it’s hard to imagine what having a relationship with you outside of my tummy will be like, but I got a glimpse of it last night. I am ridiculously excited to meet you. It’s starting to affect my sleep, because I just lay there and think about you coming and what it will be like to have you here. We just love you so much!!
This might be the last bumpdate I get to write to you before you come! That’s so crazy! This weekend we are finally going to move the bassinet into our room and move the car seat into the car. Friday is dad’s last day of work before his leave starts, and then we get to just focus on you! You stay safe in there, pack on a few more ounces, and we will see you in a week!!
How far along: 36 weeks!!! ONE MORE WEEK!!
Baby is the size of: a papaya!!
Total weight gain: about 25 pounds
Maternity clothes: Not this week. I’m still just wearing shorts and t-shirts. Comfy is key!
Sleep: I love to sleep all the time. Yesterday I took the best thirty-minute power nap ever.
Best moment this week: I really enjoyed our one-on-one time last night, but talking to the doctor about contingency plans was really comforting.
Movement: So much! Now just flip over!!
Food cravings: Nothing fun, I just like eating.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week!
Have you started to show yet: I have to live it up for the next week!!
Happy or Moody most of the time: So moody in the last week. I’m hoping that having an appointment every day will help me to be less stressed this week. Then I can be more of a good time.
Looking forward to: the next week going by SO FAST!!
