29 Week Bumpdate

April 24, 2018

Holy moly this week went by so fast Today we are 29 weeks little man, which means we only have eight weeks left. That’s less than two months! I feel like we still have so much to do, even though we really don’t, but I’m still not quite ready to do all of it. Dad and I are going on a little trip in a couple weeks, and we’ll start doing everything after we get back. We’ll be just over 31 weeks when we get back, so I feel like that should give us plenty of time to get everything ready. We just need to wash the clothes, redecorate the nursery, move some stuff to other spots in the house, and pack the hospital bag. Hopefully we don’t feel too overwhelmed with getting it all done, but I wouldn’t mind if the next eight weeks went super fast and made us feel a little crunched for time!

Luckily your dad is the sweetest, and is willing to basically do whatever I want (as far as nesting) whenever I want. On Friday, around like eight pm, I got a sudden feeling that we don’t have enough blankets for you, so we drove to Target real quick and found you a nice, soft blanket. There are still a few random things that we want to get before you come, but we have all the big things.

We had an ultrasound yesterday and kind of got to see your cute face! You were being super stubborn and wouldn’t turn your face away from my back, so we’re going to go back on Wednesday and try again. But from what we could see, you are the cutest. We already knew that, of course, but your cute little chubby cheeks made my whole day. Carter had chubby little cheeks too, so I’m just excited to see if you look like him. The ultrasound tech said you weigh about two and a half pounds, which is right where you should be. You measured 28 weeks and 5 days, so again, exactly where you should be. We’ll do another growth ultrasound in 3-4 weeks to make sure you are still on track.

This last week has been pretty uneventful, which is just the way we like it. The weather has been nice, so we’ve spent a lot of time outside getting some exercise. And on the flip side, I’ve been getting lots of sleep! The stressful dreams are still keeping me up at night. Although last night was the first night I didn’t wake up sweaty, so hopefully the dreams are on their way out! I feel like my stomach has finally shrunk, and I can’t eat as much as I used to. I feel like I’m constantly eating, because I can only eat a little bit at a time, but that’s okay. It allows for a little variety during my day haha.

We’re both getting so excited for you to be here. Dad will have so much time off to be home with us, and we keep talking about all the things we plan to do once you’re here. Since it will be summer, we’re looking forward to just taking walks around the lake with you. It’s going to be the best summer ever.

You take your time in there, and keep growing all healthy and strong. We can’t wait for you to be here! Love you!!

How far along: 29 weeks!!!
Baby is the size of: An acorn squash
Total weight gain: Twenty pounds?
Maternity clothes: Yep! But now it’s finally warming up and I’m looking forward to dresses!
Sleep: Sleep has been really good this week. Still full of stressful dreams, but I’m sleeping really well besides that.
Best moment this week: Seeing you on the ultrasound yesterday!
Movement: Still so much movement, but I wish you’d move more during the day. You love when I lay down to go to sleep at night, but you could move a bit more throughout the day and that would be okay!
Food cravings: Nothing this week, really!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Have you started to show yet: I am huge!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Really moody. Sometimes I cry and can’t stop.
Looking forward to: Going back and trying to see you on the ultrasound again tomorrow!
